Don’t forget all that necessary photo gear!

What a great story – linked from the Washington Post here – not only to read that the Historic American Building Survey (HABS) is still hiring photographers through the Library of Congress, but that a photographer out there still has the passion to photograph with a 5×7 Linhof camera, and brings all the necessary equipment – you can’t leave that behind for a photo shoot!

Jarob Ortiz, an official National Park Service photographer, is shooting B&W historical documentation, but being creative with it, and he’s finding solutions to processing and proofing the large-format film.  He’s traversing the United States, all over the map, to photograph our national landmarks and historical buildings, with his large format cameras and lighting equipment.  I say kudos to you sir!! & of course there are references to Ansel Adams in this article, who also worked for the National Park Service creating unforgettable iconic photographs of our national parks.
